If you have purchased a Black Diamond AvaLung pack in the past year (January 1st 2010) it might have defect and needs to be replaced. Please bring your pack into the store and we can check the serial and P.O. #’s for find out if your pack is included in the recall.

Black Diamond Equipment, Ltd. has recently discovered that the intake tubing on certain 2010 AvaLung Packs may crack under extremely cold temperatures. We are working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, and are in the process of obtaining final approval for a recall.

  • The recall covers a limited number of Black Diamond AvaLung packs sold since January 1, 2010.
